At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the new finals policy was released. Juniors and seniors are exempt from final exams if they have a 80% or higher in the particular class.
“I think that the new finals policy is great,” junior Zach Churchman said, “It makes me less stressed out so now I can really lock in for the rest of this quarter.”
Some seniors believe that including the juniors in the new finals policy is not fair.
“I really like the new finals policy especially since it’s my senior year,” senior Trent Schenk said, “Although I feel it’s a bit unfair that the juniors are exempt as well because the juniors last year had to suffer through finals even if you had good grades or not.”
“I love the new finals policy this semester and believe it is fair,” senior Daya Vestal said, “Since it is my senior year and I am so close to graduating, finals were gonna be a heavy burden that I did not want to deal with.”
Although students may have an 80% or higher, some juniors and seniors may be in an accelerated dual-credit class that doesn’t follow the new policy.
“I am in ACP calculus and I still have to come in for the final for that class,” senior Livi Follman said, “But I am glad that I won’t have to take finals in my other classes because it takes the heavy stress off me so I can really focus on calculus.”
Students continue to work hard in and out of school to keep up with their work and maintain good grades.
“I am doing a pretty good job with getting my work done,” Churchman said, “I am definitely more motivated after the new policy came out because I really don’t want to have to worry about finals.”
As the last weeks of the second semester come to an end, students continue persevering.
