North Central High School offers many classes and pathways to help prepare students for their future careers, all the way from math classes to construction classes.
“North Central prepared me very well for college and for my career after college. It prepared me not only from the academics it offered but also from the challenging athletic teams I was a part of,” Alumni Nick Winings said.
North Central excels in having opportunities and academic avenues for every and any student in the school. Even if they don’t know what they want to do North Central helps many students figure out what they want for their future and schedule their classes that will strengthen your readiness for your future career.
“Looking back on the four years I spent there, I really can’t think of much that could have changed to have made it better, realistically, or to have improved my experience. It was there, it was required to attend high school and it offered anything and everything that I wanted to experience and learn,” Winings said.
Many kids miss out on chances and opportunities in high school by skipping class, not doing work, and not paying attention.which hurts them in the future when looking for a career they like and want to pursue.
“The key is to experience as much as you can at first, to find out what your interests are, and then focus on those interests and become as well versed as possible in those areas that you are interested in of academics, social gatherings and athletics to be able to excel and learn as you decide where you want to be when you’re 25 years old,”Winings said.
North Central also offers athletics, clubs, and groups for anyone interested in getting involved in the school which many alumni say is a key part in your future. Not just for their career but can also help give people a sense of belonging at the school.
“I wish I would have taken it in more and got involved in some things that maybe I thought I didn’t have time for, at the time. Do all you can, and enjoy it, you’re there anyways, might as well make it work in your favor as best as possible, while helping your friends along the way, as your peers are who you will be working with in the future to be successful, form bonds with them now,”Winings said.
