This summer, a girls trip to Vietnam, Thailand and Ho-Chi-Min. This is taking place June second through 11th to Asia. A trip including all women will allow girls to build relationships and be surrounded by a supportive community
“I believe that I’ll be able to interact and bond with girls who I wouldn’t have went out of my way to become friends with,” junior Susu Mont said.
The ten day trip will allow students to connect with people outside of their norm and see women around them who have strong advice.
“Traveling with strong and experienced women is inspiring and I want our girls to see that you can have it all – you can have a family, a career, friends, and unique experiences,” trip coordinator Chelsie Peresie said.
Girls will have the opportunity to laugh, learn, and have fun during a trip that is made for them to connect with other women around them.
“I’ve always believed that commonality creates community. An all female trip is unique because there’s a deep connection with other adventurous women,” Peresie said.
Students are getting excited and eager to learn about each other and connect during this trip.
“There’s so much you can learn from being surrounded by a group of young women. We are all so different, but there’s so many things that allow us all to be connected and comfortable,” sophomore Hellen Treadwell said.
Students will have the privilege of seeing how life is outside of America, allowing them to learn about new cultures and ideas.
“I think that it is extremely important for students to experience cultures outside of their own because it is beneficial for everyone to gain a better perspective on many different varieties of cultures, and ways of living,” Mont said.
It is vital for young adults to experience challenges and successes of others, and this trip will be a great opportunity to do so.
“Being exposed to other ideas and beliefs gives people the chance to be more open minded. Learning about others is such an eye opening experience,” Treadwell said.
Not only will students learn about different cultures and how it is to live outside of the U.S, they will also get to expand their desire to travel and adventure.
“Our love of travel and encouraging our students’ endeavors has brought us together again,” Peresie said.
There is no doubt that the girls will have fun. Between learning, bonding, and growing there are many activities planned for the girls.
“I think our travelers will enjoy the unique experiences we have planned. Our lunch on the floating markets day, our apsaras dancing experience, our calligraphy course and our Cambodia national park hike are the pieces of the trip that come to mind first,” Peresie said.
Between amazing food, warm weather and beautiful scenery, the girls will take away more than just the fun they had, but lasting memories and bonds they will keep forever.
“After we get back from Asia we’ll always have this group of girls that all kinda experienced the same feelings. We’ll be able to connect and look back on how fun of a trip it was. I’m excited to get to know everyone and have a group of girls I can connect with,” Treadwell said.
