On Saturday, we witnessed one of the greatest women’s college volleyball matchups of this year. It was between Nebraska and Wisconsin, the top two rated volleyball teams this season.
Wisconsin came into the game as the number one team in the nation and Nebraska in second place, but Nebraska came up with a big upset in the five-set matchup.
In the fifth set, Nebraska barely pushed through and won the set by two points, defeating Wisconsin. It was one of the most on-the-edge games I have ever personally watched. It was always an even game and one team was lucky to pull ahead with a substantial lead.
There were almost ten thousand people in attendance, and rightfully so. This game should end up being the best women’s volleyball game this year. Nebraska led in almost every stat, including kills, assists and digs, the only stat they were not leading in was total blocks.
