Westfield Blvd. was closed off on Tuesday morning, causing many students to be late to school. To avoid most of the traffic, I had to leave about 15 minutes earlier than I usually do to make it to school on time.
Many people didn’t even know Westfield Blvd. was going to be closed, so once they got to Westfield Blvd. they had to turn around and go onto College Ave. There were so many people that had to cut over to College that almost all of 66th St. was backed up.
Lots of my friends that are almost never late were sent to the tardy room because they couldn’t make it to school on time. Many teachers also told students to leave for school earlier just in case there is traffic, but not many students expected a drive to school that would be at least 15 minutes longer than usual.
Construction in Indianapolis has not been planned out very well because almost every north to south road has some sort of construction going on that causes traffic. Keystone Ave., Meridian St. and College Ave. all have sections that are down to one lane, and Westfield is completely closed from Broad Ripple to 75th St.
Now that many students, including me, have to take College Ave. to get to school, the Park Tudor drop off and pick up lines will be longer because there are so many cars on the road that aren’t usually there. Not only does the construction affect the students at our school, but it could affect the Park Tudor students and adults trying to get to work on time.
