The Senior Class Council blood drive registration has been going on during lunch periods all week. The council is eager to persuade people to sign up.
“To persuade people to sign up for the blood drive I ask people in my classes and lunches because it saves three lives,” senior Jasmine Cho said, “You also get free Chick-fil-A just by signing up and I feel like it is a good experience to have.”
Not only do registrants get free Chick-fil-A, they also get to miss class. Students may be more persuaded by this opportunity.
“I am donating blood because I can see all my friends,” junior Colton Schueller said, “I also am excited about getting to eat free food.”
With the blood drive approaching, people continue to sign up for different reasons.
“I decided to donate blood to the blood drive because my friends are doing it,” sophomore Grant Hostetler said, “I also decided to donate because it will make me feel good about saving three lives.”
Many students participate in the blood drive, but some students feel indifferent about it.
“I am not going to donate blood this year,” senior Michael Coleman said, “I feel like it will feel weird and I do not like the idea of needles in my arm for a long period of time.”
Senior Class Council set up a station at lunch for students to come up and easily register or ask questions.
“My favorite thing about running the blood drive is feeling like I am helping people,” Cho said, “I love feeling like I am having an effect on people’s lives.”
The Senior Class Council has been successful in their efforts to get students registered. The blood drive will take place next Friday.
