Carolos Alcaraz is a 19 year old tennis player from Murcia, Spain. He trains in Spain at an academy with his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero. He has been a rising tennis protegee for the past few years and he is beginning to have more and more success in his tournaments.

Alcaraz was the third seed in the 2022 US Open held in New York City. He fought his way through the draw defeating Casper Ruud in the finals. He won in four sets with a final score of 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(7-1), 6-3.

He had played three 5 set matches in a row before the final which makes this victory even more impressive for Alcaraz. He proved his mental and physical toughness by staying focused and locked in from match to match even when the crowd was against him.

This was a very important match because the winner would become the number one ranked player in the world. Alcaraz took the win and at age 19 became the youngest World Number One in the history of tennis. This is a huge accomplishment and shows a very exciting and promising future for Alcaraz.
