5 facts you didn’t know about NC

- NC was established in 1956 in response to Washington Township‘s rapidly growing population and the desire of residents to have a local high school. Prior to this, students from the township attended Broad Ripple High School and Shortridge High School in Indianapolis.
- NC underwent renovation following fires in 1993 and 1994. It is unknown if the fires were intentional or not. The fires caused over $1 million of damage.
- J. Everett Light was the first Superintendent of NC.
- NC students used to attend what we now know as Northview.
- In 1972, the J. Everett Light Career Center opened. Students could take classes in cosmetology, construction trades and auto mechanics. The high school also began to offer Advanced Placement courses.
