Boys basketball (2-2) plays Carmel High School (5-0) on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Carmel will be a challenge as they are undefeated and are ranked third in the state for basketball. Notable wins for Carmel include Lawrence Central (3-1) and Jeffersonville (3-1).

NC’s two wins come against Richmond High School (2-2) and Indianapolis Arsenal Tech (0-4). They have yet to beat a winning team so they will need to play flawless in order to beat Carmel.

Carmel’s best player is Butler recruit, senior, John Michael Mulloy. He was their biggest contributor to winning in the Forum Credit Union Tipoff Classic. He had 19 points and seven rebounds in their most recent win against Jeffersonville.

Senior guard, Karsten Windlan finished with 20 points and helped the greyhounds shoot 60 percent from the field.

Boys basketball has experience against top tier teams in the state as they most recently lost to Hamilton Southeastern High School 73-57.

The biggest key to beat Carmel will be to defend the perimeter. Most teams double Mulloy which leaves Carmel’s efficient shooters open for three which is why they were successful in their last game.
