Girls Basketball Preview

Girls+Basketball+Preview

Girls basketball plays Pike (4-2) on Friday, Nov. 30 looking to continue their undefeated season.

They hold a 6-0 record and five of their six wins have been won by 10 or more points. Girls basketball is led by senior, Rikki Harris (an Ohio State commit), who missed most of last season due to injury.

Girls basketball has had impressive wins against Lawrence North (7-1), handing them their only loss along with Marquette Catholic (5-1).

Pike has lost games to Roncalli and Bloomington South, but are on a three game win streak and will be at home.

The team has had other contributions from players such as sophomore Nakaih Hunter, who has been dominant in the paint which has been a large reason the team has been so productive.

They have size, athleticism and speed which has helped them tremendously in the fast break and on defense.

Freshman, Tanyuel Welch has been really productive as well with her quickness and ability to get down the floor and draw defenses toward her causing other players to be open.

It has been vital for them to have younger players step up with the absence of senior Savaya Brockington who has been injured.
