At the state championship cross country meet, 24 teams qualified to run for their school. NC finished 9th as a team, with the top runner senior Jack Hawes finishing 37th.
The meet was held at the LaVern Gibson course in Terre Haute, Indiana.The top team finished first with 136 points, which was 161 points ahead of the Panther’s 297.
206 runners entered the race looking for a state title, and two Panther runners finished in the top 50. The team obtained victories at the Brebeuf meet, county championship, and the Marion Invite throughout the season.
Though some of the Panther runners ran above expectation, a few below average times brought the score down. The team placed as they were expected by projection, but could have placed higher.
