People walk around the music festival. Lollapalooza was a music festival in Chicago.

People from around the United States and the world flock to Grant Park in Chicago, IL to attend Lollapalooza, a popular music festival.

Lollapalooza is an annual music festival featuring popular alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock, hip hop, electronic music bands and artists, dance and comedy performances and craft booths.

The music festival hosted more than 400,000 people over the four day stretch of the festival. Lollapalooza has featured a diverse range of bands and artists. This year, the festival had a line-up of 180 bands and artists such as Travis Scott, Arctic Monkeys, Bruno Mars, Post Malone and The Weeknd.

Lollapalooza started on Thursday, August 2 and ended on Sunday, August 5, 2018. The festival ran from 11 a.m. into the evening, ending at 10 p.m.

Lollapalooza was not always as big as it is today. The festival was created by Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for Jane’s Addiction and Farrell’s rock band. Lollapalooza toured throughout the United States and Canada.

The increasing popularity of alternative rock in the early 1990s led to Lollapalooza being brought back in ‘92 and ‘93. From there, Lollapalooza became an annual music festival, growing to be one of the largest music festivals in the US.

Lollapalooza has appeared not only in the US, but other festivals have been held in Santiago, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Berlin, Stockholm and Paris.

Tickets to the biggest Lollapalooza edition, in Chicago, are usually sold quickly. While tickets were being sold for the 2016 edition of Lollapalooza, the four-day general passes sold out after only one day of being sold. The one-day passes sold even faster; they were gone less than three hours after organizers revealed the lineup for the festival.
