Annual Tootsie Pop Concert Information
February 3, 2017
This Friday from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm North Central orchestras will put on the annual Tootsie Pop concert.
The Tootsie Pop concert is an orchestra concert based around entertaining children. There are activities directed by members of the orchestra such as a petting zoo, where kids can play instruments and make arts and crafts. This gives children a hands on day learning about instruments and music.
“The best part of the Tootsie Pop concert is getting young kids interested in music and excited for orchestra” said Nicholas Jager of the Symphony orchestra.
There will also be a silent auction in which all proceeds will go towards funding the orchestra, as well as private lessons for students.
The orchestra will be performing the score of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the score of the Little Mermaid, Beethoven’s 7th Symphony Movement II, and other music that will appeal to most children.
Students of the orchestras seem to be excited to participate today.
“The Tootsie Pop concert is all about entertaining the kids and having fun,” said Ryan Ward of the Festival orchestra.
