After almost five months of early morning practices and late nights at the pool in preparation, NC boy’s swimming and diving team is gearing up for their championship season. The championship meets happen in a two week period starting with the sectional meet and ending with the state meet.
The sectional meet will occur over a course of two days. Sectional prelims will begin this Thursday and those with the qualifying top 16 times will advance to the finals session on Saturday.
Sophomore, Caleb Parker, is looking forward to this week’s competition.
“I feel very positive that we are going to dominate,” Parker said. “I’m not feeling nervous. I feel confident in what we’ve done this season and feel that we are adequately prepared for this meet.”
The boy’s sectional meet will occur at NC’s own natatorium on Thursday and 1p.m. on Saturday. The swimmer with the fastest time at Sectional prelims or who qualifies with the state cut time will advance to the state meet at the IUPUI Natatorium.
