As the seasons start changing and leaves begin to fall, many businesses start adding additions to their menus. Fall menus are what many people look forward to once the weather begins to change.
“The fall menus make me feel happy and excited for fall. They remind me of cold weather and I like cold weather so it’s always exciting when the menus come out,” junior Mckenzi Rutland said.
The beginning of the fall season brings lots of excitement to people as more food and drink options come out getting people in the fall spirit. Not only is it getting cold outside, the fall treats are something people also get to experience.
“My favorite place for fall menus is Starbucks because I really like the pumpkin drinks and the cold foam,” Rutland said.
Many people enjoy Starbucks as their go-to for fall menus. Starbucks typically comes out with a new flavor to add to their fall menu every year. As nice as it is that Starbucks tries to be more diverse with their options, that’s not the case everywhere.
“I think there should be more diverse options because not everyone likes pumpkin flavored things. Another good fall flavor that could be used is cinnamon,” Rutland said.
Pumpkin is the standard fall flavor that many people get excited about and enjoy, but not everyone. Including different flavors can help make the menu even more special and diverse.
“I think Swig and Crumbl both have good fall menus, too. They incorporate pumpkin and cider into their menus during the fall season,” Rutland said.
Many companies mix up their menus. Places like Crumbl Cookie and Swig also do a good job at incorporating more fall flavors in their items. Getting more companies to join the fall menu fun is also something that people are looking forward to seeing.
“I don’t think Chick-Fil-A does anything, so I think they should come out with a fall shake. Even Jaggers or Steak’n Shake should also come out with a shake that’s fall,” freshman Lauren Alkire said.
Not only do people want other companies to start coming out with fall menus, the debate over when the menus should come out is also relevant to fall treat lovers.
“I think they should come out the first actual day of fall,” Alkire said, “The first day a place comes out with it gets me in the fall spirit.”
Waiting until Sep. 22 when the fall truly starts can help people get to enjoy the summer menu until it truly becomes fall. Not everyone agrees with delaying the fall menu.
“I think when they start is good because it gets me in the fall mood and ready for colder weather,” Rutland said.
Starting the menus later or keeping them the same is something no one is ever going to agree on, and it is the same situation when it comes to how long the menus should last.
“I think they should stay longer and go through winter because everyone loves pumpkin drinks,” Rutland said.
Extending the length of the menus can lead to people getting to enjoy their favorite fall flavors longer. As much as many people might appreciate that, others are ready to let it go and move onto the next season.
“I think the length of the menus are perfect how they are because it gives me something to look forward to and when it’s done, it’s fine because I’ve had enough,” Alkire said.
No matter the period of time fall menus are offered, many people enjoy going to get a fall treat to kick off the season.
Consider going to try a new fall menu item to help get in the fall spirit and support the businesses that are willing to spice up their menus.
