Jonatan Bezverhnii, a 6’4”, 320-pound offensive lineman, is entering his senior season with the North Central football team.
Wearing number 76, he’s hoping to help turn the program around and earn his shot to play at the next level.
Bezverhnii has drawn interests from colleges including University of Tennessee at Martin and Western Illinois University.
“I started playing football at the age of 15, I was about 6’1 260 pounds and everybody I knew started telling me to play football and that I could go far with it,” Bezverhnii said.
Bezverhnii was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec.
“The adjustment to moving from Montreal to Indiana has been pretty easy. I was in Tennessee last year at a prep school so staying alone last year helped with the whole adjustment,” Bezverhnii said.
“NC has been great so far. The diversity in this school is awesome and I’m looking forward to making new connections and friendships,” Bezverhnii said.
Bezverhnii says that adjusting to North Central has been easy as he enjoys the diverse culture and meeting new people.
Faith in God plays a key role in Bezverhnii’s work on and off the field to make him keep striving for more.
“God and family keep me going everyday. I work hard everyday to make sure I get the chance to give back to my family today and God keeps giving me strength, patience and grace 24/7, I can’t be more grateful,” Bezverhnii said.
Bezverhnii looks forward to making the program a winning program and proving everyone wrong.
“I’m looking forward to every day to make sure the program will be a winning program this year. We work hard everyday to prove everyone wrong. From the classroom, to the football field we will always give it our all to be the greatest leaders NC has had,” Bezverhnii said.
Bezverhnii wants to be a leader on the team and set a good example for everyone around him in the program.
Bezverhnii’s teammates have only good things to say about him.
“Jonatan is a very good teammate and he is a good leader on the offensive line as a senior. He has helped the offensive line in many ways including leading by example in drills and plays and giving full effort in everything he does. He will definitely help the team by giving us another big man up front and another senior leader,” sophomore Chase Grove said.
“My goals this season will be to be a great leader for my teammates, get named MVP offensive lineman at the end of the season and to be able to collect multiple D1 offers throughout the season,” Bezverhnii said.
