1. 42 percent of the student body is white, 41 percent is black, nine percent is hispanic, five percent is multiracial and two percent is asian.
2. Al Belmont became NC’s first transgender prom king last year.
3. Clubs, such as Culture Club and Equality Alliance, help promote diversity at NC.
4. More than 50 languages are spoken by NC students.
5. The majority of foreign students come from Mexico, Thailand and Congo
